Dr. Sekar earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College in India in 1982. Prior to his arrival in the United States, Dr. Sekar was trained in England, where he first studied cardiology. He also has over fourteen years of teaching experience in hospitals. Dr. Sekar is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is certified in pacemaker and defibrillator implantation through the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Sekar is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
