Dr. Keith Choate

Dr. Dannenberg is a physician in the Department of Dermatology at Northwell Health. He is board certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology.Dr. Dannenberg earned his medical degree from the Jefferson Medical College. He completed his internship at Baystate Medical Center and his dermatology residency at Medical College of Virginia. He is the department Chair in Dermatology at Huntington Hospital. Dr. Dannenberg is Past President of both the Long Island Dermatologic Society and the Suffolk County Dermatology Society, and he has served as Treasurer for the New York State Society of Dermatology. He has also served in various leadership capacities for the American Academy of Dermatology.Dr. Dannenberg has been in practice in the Huntington area for over 20 years. He has special expertise in contact and occupational dermatitis and he offers a full array of patch testing services to individualize evaluation. He is also expert in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology in patients of all ages. Dr. Dannenberg has extensive experience in surgical management of skin cancer, UV light phototherapy, and the use of immunotherapy for inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis and eczema. He also provides training to Northwell dermatology residents in surgical procedures and cosmetics. While working as a clinical pharmacist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dr. Rekhtman also pursued a Master of Public Health specializing in Healthcare Policy and Management at the Boston University School of Public Health. This led to his induction into the Delta Omega Honor Society for public health and the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society for healthcare management. Dr. Rekhtman went on to earn is medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He subsequently completed his residency in dermatology at Northwell Health where he served as Academic Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Rekhtman's clinical interests include inpatient consultative dermatology, cutaneous drug toxicities, general dermatology, complex medical dermatology, and rheumatic skin diseases (i.e. lupus, dermatomyositis, psoriasis, vasculitis, etc.). His Research interests are primarily focused on inpatient and acute dermatologic conditions as well as on cutaneous drug toxicities. Dr. Rekhtman also has a strong interest in medical student and dermatology resident education. Dr. Rekhtman has served in a variety of leadership roles, including membership on the Council of Science and Research, as well as the Healthcare Finance Committee within the American Academy of Dermatology.
