
Overview
Dr. Potter is a native of Fort Washington, MD, and attended Columbia University where he earned his B.A. degree with dual majors in Pre-Medical Studies and Art History. He later graduated from Howard University College of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Howard University Hospital before pursuing his rheumatology fellowship at New York University. Between medical school and his internship/residency, he spent a year at the National Institutes of Health as a recipient of an Intramural Research Training Award.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Potter was appointed to the Rheumatology faculty at the University of Virginia as an Assistant Clinical Professor. There, he helped to establish a curriculum for musculoskeletal ultrasound for training fellows and gave several presentations on topics including rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory myositis, and systemic lupus erythematosus. He participates annually as a question writer for the American College of Rheumatology’s Continuing Medical Education Program.
Dr. Potter has received multiple scholarships and awards throughout his academic and medical careers, including the ACR REF/Amgen/Pfizer Rheumatology Fellowship Training Award, Teaching Resident of the Year, Intramural Research Training Award, Dr. Emile C. Nash Award, and Internal Medicine Departmental Award. He has been first author and co-author of several peer-reviewed articles, largely focusing on disparities in U.S. Healthcare.

Dr. DiIorio serves as Co-Director of the Osteoporosis Assessment Center, a division of Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, P.C. She is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, a member of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Medical Advisory Board of the Lupus Foundation. Dr. DiIorio received her B.A. from New York University, New York, NY in 1983 where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Magnum Cum Laude graduate. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical honor society. Her Internship and Residency were served at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY, and her Fellowship training in Rheumatic Diseases was completed at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. She was Board Certified in rheumatology in 1994 and re-certification again completed in 2014.Dr. DiIorio was recognized as an outstanding specialist in Rheumatology in Washingtonian Magazine and Best Doctors in America. Dr. Kumar earned her undergraduate degree in neurobiology and physiology at the University of Maryland, College Park. She completed her medical degree at St. George’s University, where she was a member of the Iota Epsilon Alpha medical honor society. She completed her internal medicine residency at Rutgers New Jersey School of Medicine and her fellowship training in rheumatology at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana.During her fellowship, Dr. Kumar participated in a wide range of clinical and translational research projects which have been recognized by the American College of Rheumatology, Rheumatology Alliance of Louisiana, Congress of Clinical Rheumatology, and the North American Young Rheumatology Investigator Forum. Her work has been published in journals such as The Rheumatologist and Healio Rheumatology. She is actively involved in applications of diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound in rheumatology. Along with cortisone and hyaluronic acid injections, Dr. Kumar is trained in performing Iovera procedures, a cryotherapy option to treat knee pain. She believes in a comprehensive and collaborative approach to patient care.Dr. Kumar is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. She is also a certified clinical densitometrist. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, the American Medical Association, the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, and the Association of Women in Rheumatology. A native Washingtonian, Dr. Wolfe graduated Cum Laude from Amherst College, Amherst, MA where he received his BA in 1990 with a major in Religion. While there, he played varsity football and completed a senior thesis on Navajo Religious Medicine. In 1995 he received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, DC. In 1999 he completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Tufts University’s Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. While at Baystate, he was honored with the House Staff/Fellow Citation for Excellence in Teaching Award, given by the Tufts University School of Medicine, Class of 1998.From 1999 – 2002, Dr. Wolfe was employed by the Chinle Hospital of the Navajo Area Indian Health Service. During that time, he served as a staff physician, Medical Director of the Outpatient Department, and as Project Manager for an Outpatient Redesign and Expansion project. In 2002, he received the Superior Administrative Service Award.In 2004, just prior to joining Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, P.C., Dr. Wolfe completed a Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA. From 2006-2023 Dr. Wolfe served as a volunteer rheumatologist at Mobile Med, Inc., a non-profit organization providing healthcare to the uninsured in Montgomery County, MD.
