Overview
Dr. Karagiannis is a board-certified cardiovascular specialist serving the communities of suburban Dallas and North Texas. His clinical focus is on treating patients with heart issues such as coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes and obesity. He believes strongly in the importance of preventative cardiac care and works with his patients to improve and maintain their overall heart health. In addition, Dr. Karagiannis is extensively trained in advanced cardiac imaging and holds certifications from the National Board of Echocardiography, the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. Prior to moving back to Texas, he maintained a busy practice with Piedmont Heart in Georgia. He is currently a member of the medical staff at Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Plano, McKinney, Denton and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Plano, McKinney. When Dr. Karagiannis has time away from his clinical practice, he enjoys spending it with his wife and daughters. He also enjoys home improvement, woodworking, cooking, reading, exercising, spending time on the water and visiting family in Waco and League City.

Sahil Bakshi, DO is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease. He has a special interest in preventative cardiology, women and heart disease, valvular heart disease, and pulmonary hypertension. He currently serves as the medical director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Center, and physician leader of Informatics at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, and is a founding member of the Society for Cardiovascular CT. While completing his fellowship in Cardiology at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation, he was named Chief Cardiology Fellow in 2004-2005 and served on the Medical Education Curriculum Committee. He also served on the Book Review Committee for the Doody Publishing House and was given the Best Case Presentation award at the American College of Chest Physicians Annual Meeting in 2003. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and his D.O. degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was on the Dean's Honor Roll and graduated first in his class. As an undergraduate at the University of Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Dr. Bakshi was active in the Asian American community and served as Asian American Student Association President and received the Outstanding Asian American Award.
