Dr. Sidney Glasofer
Overview
As a board-certified cardiologist with more than 10 years of experience, Dr. Sidney Glasofer has been instrumental in establishing Atlantic Health System’s Cardio-Oncology clinic at Overlook Medical Center. Dr. Glasofer coordinates an interdisciplinary approach to cardiovascular disease in oncology patients. The focus is on the management of underlying cardiac disease, emerging cardiac disease due to malignancy or cardio toxic effects of cancer therapies. Dr. Glasofer’s goal is to optimize his patient’s cardiac care ensuring they receive needed cancer therapies and maintain cardiac health beyond their cancer treatment. Dr. Glasofer studied biomedical engineering at Duke University and started his career as an engineer at Johnson and Johnson. He decided to pursue medicine at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Glasofer completed his internal medicine residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital, then a cardiology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. As part of his cardiology fellowship, he was introduced to cardio-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. Dr. Glasofer is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is board certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.

He also maintains a thriving practice evaluating structural heart disease in both symptomatic and asymptomatic athletes using cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, stress testing, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.Throughout his internship, residency and fellowship training at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Dr. Martinez was recognized with multiple honors including chief cardiology fellow, and clinical associate professorships.
