
Overview
Dr. Britton has been with Hand Surgery Associates since 1993. In his practice, he treats the entire spectrum of upper extremity conditions, including trauma and acquired conditions in adults and in children. He is a consultant at Craig Hospital in Denver, providing upper extremity reconstructive options for patients with debilitating spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Britton is also the upper extremity consultant for National Jewish Hospital where he provides treatment for patients on a national referral level who have rare upper extremity infections. He was a principal investigator in the national research trial studying effective medications for the treatment of Dupuytren’s Disease resulting in the FDA approval of Xiaflex®. He is an active Fellow in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand as well as a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

OCC- Golden Lutheran
Originally from Minnesota, Dr. David M. Bierbrauer joined Cornerstone Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, a division of OCC, in 2011. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, whose primary interest is in hand and elbow surgery, as well as a secondary interest in trauma care and sports medicine. Dr. Bierbrauer is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Western Orthopedic Association, and Colorado State Medical Society. Prior to working at Cornerstone Orthopedics, Dr. Bierbrauer graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Chemistry from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. He attended The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, where he was a Dean’s Award recipient. After medical school, Dr. Bierbrauer completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and his fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, KY. In 2011, he worked at Front Range Orthopedics in Colorado Springs from 2005-2011. As the official US Ski Team Physician, he has had the opportunity to travel internationally to France and Canada. Dr. Choudhry provides a full complement of upper extremity/hand care from the shoulder to fingertips. A Colorado native, he graduated from Overland High School in Aurora where he was awarded the Bausch & Lomb Science Award for his “Excellent Promise in the Field of Science.” He went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology from the University of Denver and graduated Cum Laude. He then attended the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical School where he received the William Winter MD Award for his “Outstanding Performance in Orthopedic Surgery” as a senior medical student. He continued his passion for orthopedics by completing his residency at the University of Cincinnati and affiliated hospitals. As a graduating chief resident he was selected as the recipient of the Peter J. Stern MD award “in recognition for outstanding qualities in professionalism, patient care, and teaching.” He then decided to pursue subspecialty training and completed an Upper extremity/Hand fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina. During fellowship he received the Fellow’s Clinical Science Silver Award by the Wake Forest Division of Surgical Sciences for his research on nerve injuries. Dr. Choudhry has several research endeavors that have been presented at national meetings and published in prestigous scientific journals. Originally from Seattle, WA, Dr. MacTaggart joined OCC-Cornerstone Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2019 after completing advanced training in hand and upper extremity surgery. She specializes in the full range of hand, wrist, and elbow conditions and offers the latest treatments, including fracture care, microvascular surgery, nerve decompression, repair or reconstruction, fusions and replacements, bracing, injections, and arthroscopy. Dr. MacTaggart is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Academy of Hand Surgery. Prior to working at OCC-Cornerstone, Dr. MacTaggart graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, where she also played on the women’s soccer team. She attended medical school at The University of Washington, graduating magna cum laude and was nominated to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. After medical school, Dr. MacTaggart completed her residency training at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at The Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center/Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA.
