Dr. Imran Choudhry

Originally from Minnesota, Dr. David M. Bierbrauer joined Cornerstone Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, a division of OCC, in 2011. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, whose primary interest is in hand and elbow surgery, as well as a secondary interest in trauma care and sports medicine. Dr. Bierbrauer is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Western Orthopedic Association, and Colorado State Medical Society. Prior to working at Cornerstone Orthopedics, Dr. Bierbrauer graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Chemistry from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. He attended The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, where he was a Dean’s Award recipient. After medical school, Dr. Bierbrauer completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and his fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, KY. In 2011, he worked at Front Range Orthopedics in Colorado Springs from 2005-2011. As the official US Ski Team Physician, he has had the opportunity to travel internationally to France and Canada. Originally from Seattle, WA, Dr. MacTaggart joined OCC-Cornerstone Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2019 after completing advanced training in hand and upper extremity surgery. She specializes in the full range of hand, wrist, and elbow conditions and offers the latest treatments, including fracture care, microvascular surgery, nerve decompression, repair or reconstruction, fusions and replacements, bracing, injections, and arthroscopy. Dr. MacTaggart is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Academy of Hand Surgery. Prior to working at OCC-Cornerstone, Dr. MacTaggart graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, where she also played on the women’s soccer team. She attended medical school at The University of Washington, graduating magna cum laude and was nominated to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. After medical school, Dr. MacTaggart completed her residency training at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at The Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center/Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Alireza Todd Alijani, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He provides comprehensive care of the upper extremities, conditions from shoulders to the fingertips, including trauma, fractures, sports medicine, tumors, and pediatric or congenital conditions. Dr. Alijani graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University, completing his orthopedic residency there as well. Dr. Alijani fulfilled his general surgery internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and completed his hand and upper extremity fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery/Cornell University Hospital in New York. Dr. Alijani served in the military as a Flight Surgeon in the US Army located in Fort Rucker, Alabama from 1994-1997. Dr. Alijani was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and received an honorable discharge in 1998. Dr. Alijani’s goal is to restore patients to their previous activity level. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery which can lead to less discomfort and a more rapid return to leisure activities.
