Dr. Min Yao

Heath Mackley, MD, is a radiation oncologist. Dr. Mackley provides compassionate cancer care for children and adults, helping them manage their symptoms and understand their treatment options. Patients in his care receive radiation therapy.|Dr. Mackley is the chair for radiation oncology for Geisinger. He specializes in treating a variety of conditions, including sarcomas, lymphomas, pediatric cancers, breast cancer, skin cancer, prostate cancer, kidney or bladder cancer and gastrointestinal (GI) cancer.|Dr. Mackley has a clinical interest in stereotactic radiosurgery.|Board-certified in radiation oncology, Dr. Mackley earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a residency in radiation oncology at the Cleveland Clinic.|A husband and father of four, Dr. Mackley is active in the Boy Scouts of America and his local church. As a resident of central Pennsylvania, he is committed to serving his community by giving the best care he possibly can.|In 2007, Dr. Mackley received the Radiological Society of North America’s Resident/Fellow Research Award to recognize his superior research efforts as a resident.|He has published several papers and participated in many research projects. He is an advisory board member for the journal Applied Radiation Oncology and has served as a reviewer for 10 other journals.|Dr. Mackley is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Radiation Oncology, American College of Radiation Oncology, American Medical Association and American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is vice chair and a trustee of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and has served as president of the Dauphin County Medical Society. Dr. Mackley is an investigator in the cancer therapy evaluation group of the National Cancer Institute and the Children’s Oncology Group. He is a fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology and a member of Penn State College of Medicine’s mentoring academy.|In his free time, Dr. Mackley enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and camping.
