Overview
I’ve been interested in the heart since I was a child. The most common conditions I encounter are heart failure, coronary artery disease or blockages around the heart, valvular heart disease, blood pressure problems, and other heart diseases. I like to have a gentle cardiology approach with my patients for diagnostic purposes and to provide general care. When I see a patient, I will put myself in their seat and treat them as if I were treating a member of my own family. Once you connect with a patient, you know what they want, where they’re hurting, and how best to treat them. The most gratifying part of my job is helping patients feel better, taking care of them, and seeing the looks on their faces when they’re happy and you know you’ve made a difference. Apart from medicine, I love to travel and see the world, and I love music and singing.

My practice also has a focus on patients with difficult-to-control hypertension, hypertension medication intolerance, difficult-to-manage congestive heart failure, and problems with heart failure medications. My newest role in the clinic is as the director of Outpatient Services for our practice. Our practice-based goals are to make sure everyone who sees a Duke cardiologist leaves on the best therapy for their disease based on current evidence and the individual's ability to tolerate and benefit from that treatment.
