Dr. Amro Alsaid is a board-certified cardiologist with advanced Level III training and subspecialty board certification in cardiac MRI, cardiac CT and echocardiography. He is also board certified with Level II training in nuclear cardiology. Dr. Alsaid earned his medical degree in Egypt and has been practicing since 2013. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Michigan State University, where he served as Chief Medical Resident, followed by General Cardiology and Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowships at Geisinger Medical Center. He further honed his expertise with additional cardiac imaging training at Boston University Medical Center, West Roxbury VA Hospital, and in Berlin, Germany. Prior to joining Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital, Dr. Alsaid held pivotal leadership roles at Geisinger Medical Center, including Medical Director for the Cardiac CT Lab and Interim Echo Lab Director. As an Assistant Professor of Cardiology, he played a key role in the Internal Medicine residency program, General Cardiology Fellowship, and Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship programs. Since joining The Heart Hospital in August 2022 as the Medical Director of Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging CT & MRI Programs, Dr. Alsaid has spearheaded remarkable growth in both volume and quality of cardiac imaging services. Collaborating with multiple stakeholders, he has overseen the acquisition of cutting-edge hardware and software, and optimized scanning and reporting protocols. He is also the associate program director for the Advanced cardiac imaging fellowship program and a core teaching faculty for the general cardiology and structural heart disease fellowship programs. Dr. Alsaid’s clinical expertise includes interventional 4D echocardiography, structural cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, and SPECT nuclear cardiology, with a special focus on complex valvular heart disease and the use of multimodality advanced imaging to guide structural cardiac interventions. He has additional research interests in the application of advanced cardiac imaging for assessing and risk stratifying patients with various cardiomyopathies and genetic mutations. Dr. Alsaid is frequently invited to speak at national and international cardiac conferences.
