Dr. Amy C. Schefler

Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Amy Schefler’s clinical interests include retinoblastoma, uveal melanoma, benign and malignant eye tumors. In practice since 2004, she sees patients of all ages and speaks Spanish. Dr. Schefler earned her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. She completed both a residency and fellowship at the University of Miami (Florida)’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute-Anne Bates Leach Eye Hospital. She underwent additional training at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. The hallmark of Dr. Schefler’s practice philosophy is compassionate care grounded in scientific evidence. A resident of Houston, Dr. Schefler is married and the mother of two children. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, tennis and traveling.
