Dr. Andreea L. Seritan is a geriatric psychiatrist who specializes in treating patients with movement disorders and associated psychiatric symptoms. She was a member of the team at UC Davis that first characterized FXTAS-associated dementia and related psychiatric manifestations for the international medical community. Seritan earned her medical degree from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. She completed a psychiatry residency at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by a geriatric psychiatry fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. Before joining UCSF, Seritan was a member of the psychiatry and behavioral sciences department at the University of California, Davis, where she also served as associate dean for student wellness.
