Overview
Dr. Jina Kim is a specialty physician with board certification in general surgery and focused practice designation in adult complex thyroid and parathyroid surgery from the American Board of Surgery. This focused practice designation recognizes surgeons who focus their practice on thyroid and parathyroid diseases. It also includes management of patients with locally advanced thyroid cancer, aggressive histologic subtypes and inherited endocrine syndromes. As an endocrine surgeon, Dr. Kim offers surgery for patients with thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal diseases. Patient with endocrine tumors, whether benign or cancerous, deserve specialized, multidisciplinary care. Dr. Kim is proud to be able to provide such care at Inova. Dr. Kim joined Inova Health System in 2020 and has been practicing endocrine surgery since 2019. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Kim completed a surgical residency at Duke University and an endocrine surgery fellowship at the University of California-San Francisco. Her research interests include quality improvement of surgical care for patients, both regionally and nationally. She has served as a committee member with the American Thyroid Association and as an ad-hoc reviewer for various surgical journals. As a native of Northern Virginia, Dr. Kim enjoys exploring local parks and new restaurants with her family.
