Dr. Jose Najera is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist with Orlando Health Cancer Institute. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and a medical oncology/hematology fellowship at Orlando Health, where he served as chief fellow in his final year. About Dr. Najera Dr. Najera is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His professional memberships include the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology. Dr. Najera’s research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, and he has served as associate editor of the European Journal of Medical Research. Dr. Najera joins Orlando Health after more than a decade in Oklahoma, where he was a general oncologist/hematologist and head of research for a cancer clinic. He also served as president of the Oklahoma Society of Clinical Oncology, a hospital’s chair of medicine and as an adjunct clinical assistant professor. Outside of work, Dr. Najera enjoys spending time with family, soccer, golf and comic books. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
