Overview
Dr. Maher Dahdel received his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of Damascus University in Damascus, Syria. He completed his internal medicine residency with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center (UIC) in Chicago. He then finished his pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. Dr. Dahdel has completed additional training in interventional pulmonology. Board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and interventional pulmonology, Dr. Dahdel treats a variety of lung diseases, critically ill patients and performs minimally invasive procedures using cutting-edge technology for the diagnosis and treatment of several lung conditions, such as lung cancer and pleural diseases. He also speaks Arabic. Throughout his education and career, Dr. Dahdel has received numerous recognitions, including UIC’s Academic Excellence Award and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences West’s Academic Excellence Faculty Award. In addition, he is published in many medical journals. Dr. Dahdel is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and is a member of the American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP) and the American College of Physicians (ACP).
