
Overview
Dr. Mario Mejia got his first opportunity to care for others when he was a high school student and volunteered at an adult living center in Miami, Fla. The experience never left him but, rather, grew into a passion for medicine and helping patients of all ages. Dr. Mejia went on to become board-certified in family medicine. He is clinically trained in a variety of areas, including pediatrics, gynecology, internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics and behavioral health. His special interest lies in providing community-based health care. Dr. Mejia earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Bassetterre, St. Kitts. He completed his family medicine residency at the Texas Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research in Laredo.
