Dr. Mary E. Csuka

Mike Putman, MD/MSci, is an associate professor of medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he serves as the associate fellowship program director and the medical director of the Vasculitis Program. He is also involved in medical education and is the co-director of the hematology/immunology block and the co-director of the Evidence Based Medicine Longitudinal Thread. From a research perspective, he conducts meta-research and studies giant cell arteritis on a Rheumatology Research Foundation Scientist Development Grant. She maintains an active clinical practice, has been elected a fellow in the American College of Physicians, and is the winner of several teaching awards.Dr. Rosenthal received her MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Rochester. She received her rheumatology training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her principal research interests revolve around pathogenic mechanisms of a common form of arthritis known as calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease. This work has been funded by the Veteran’s Administration Research Service and the National Institutes of Health since 1991. Other research interests include osteoarthritis and gout as well as musculoskeletal complications of diabetes. She is the author of over 80 original publications, numerous chapters and invited reviews, and has spoken at many national and international meetings. She is an enthusiastic study section member for NIH and the VA and is an active mentor for the US Bone and Joint Decade Young Investigators Initiative.
