Dr. Maryam K. Jahromi

Dr. Maryam Keshtkar Jahromi is an assistant professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her area of clinical expertise is infectious diseases. Dr. Keshtkar Jahromi is a hospitalist at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. Dr. Keshtkar Jahromi earned her M.D. at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran. She completed an infectious diseases residency at Iran’s Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and an internal medicine residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. She performed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. We are particularly interested in the impact of the influenza vaccine on systemic inflammation. Recent areas of focus include the relationship between influenza vaccination and cardiovascular outcomes, the emergence of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever in Iran, and prospects for vaccines and therapies for Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever.

Her clinical expertise encompasses Togaviridae Disease, Viral Hemorrhagic Fever, Cryptococcosis, and Western Equine Encephalitis.

Dr. Jahromi is board certified in American Board Of Internal Medicine. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 34 peer reviewed articles.
