Algazi earned his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed a residency in internal medicine at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in hematology-oncology at UCSF. Algazi is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society for Immunotherapy for Cancer and American Association for Cancer Research.
