He was deployed to Balad, Iraq as a vascular surgeon in the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Group from 9/06 - 1/07 and was otherwise a member of the 859th Surgical Operations Squadron of the 59th Medical Wing at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.
