Dr. Saksena is a dynamic, clinically oriented, hematologist/oncologist with several years of experience in the treatment of various cancers and blood disorders. She is triple board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Her strong medical back- ground combined with her passion to build meaningful patient-centered relationships enables her to deliver leading-edge care in a highly personalized manner. She practices comprehensive cancer care, with direct access to the latest clinical trials, and works closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists, genetic counselors, nurses, social workers and dietitians.Dr. Saksena attended Lehigh University, where she obtained a bachelor of science degree in behavioral neuroscience. She earned her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, part of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, and then completed her hematology/oncology fellowship at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) & Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.During her education, Dr. Saksena received a number of honors, awards and scholarships for her clinical work, leadership roles, and research. She served as chief fellow of hematology oncology while at Rutgers CINJ, the state’s only National Cancer Institue-designated cancer center. Dr. Saksena also speaks Hindi, Gujarati and conversational Spanish, and is committed to community outreach through advocacy groups and as a liaison of the American Medical Women’s Association.Dr. Saksena is a member of Atlantic Medical Group, and is a participating provider in the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
