Dr. Stamatina Danielides

Dr. Stamatina Danielides is a specialty care physician board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine at Inova Health System. She joined Inova in 2022 and has been practicing since 2006. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Danielides worked as active staff and assistant professor for the Division of Rheumatology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). At VCU, Dr. Danielides founded a specialty clinic that treated patients with autoimmune side effects of checkpoint inhibitors. Prior to her tenure at VCU, she worked as the primary rheumatologist of the Sjogren’s syndrome clinic at the National Institutes of Health. Here at Inova, in addition to a general rheumatology clinic, Dr. Danielides conducts a specialty clinic that focuses on cancer-related rheumatologic diseases such as immune-related adverse events caused by immune checkpoint inhibitors. This clinic is conducted in collaboration with oncology, dermatology and other relevant specialties. Dr. Danielides has a special interest in Sjogren’s syndrome. She works in close collaboration with the Sjogren’s Foundation in the development of guidelines, which are expert recommendations for the clinical management of Sjogren’s patients. Passionate about educating clinicians in training, Dr. Danielides has mentored several fellows, residents and students in rheumatology. Dr. Danielides is fluent in Greek, English and Italian and is proficient in Spanish. Outside the office, Dr. Danielides enjoys swimming, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her cat, three kids and husband.
