Dr. Asheesh Bedi is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery specializing in sports medicine, including arthroscopic and open surgery for athletic injuries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. He is the Executive Director and Chief of Sports Medicine at Michigan Medicine, and the head orthopaedic team physician for U-M Athletics. He is also a team physician for Chicago Bears, medical director for the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), and a consultant for the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA).Dr. Bedi completed his undergraduate training at Northwestern University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Bedi has authored over 350 articles, chapters, and peer-reviewed publications on shoulder, elbow, knee, and hip injuries in athletes. He has won numerous prestigious awards in the field, including the ASES Neer Award, AOSSM Cabaud and Excellence in Research Awards, and is a member of the Herodicus Society.
