Her areas of special expertise include treating fractures and spinal deformity in children with osteogenesis imperfecta, spina bifida, and cerebral palsy. In the laboratory she investigates bone healing in these diseases. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) and in 2012 she was selected to represent POSNA in Northern Europe as one of the POSNA Traveling Fellows, where she studied and taught at major European centers. Dr. Caird is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Scoliosis Research Society, and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America.
