Overview
I have the opportunity to help restore function and allow patients to resume what they want and need to do. Some patients just need to understand their condition, while others may benefit from therapy or surgery. I treat conditions in the upper extremity, from the elbow to the hand. This includes common conditions, such as fractures, dislocations, and ligament injuries of the hand, wrist, or forearm. I also treat nerve compressions in the wrist or elbow, such as carpal tunnel syndrome or cubital tunnel syndrome, arthritis of the thumb, hand, and wrist, and tendonitis. I also see patients of all ages for less common conditions, such as vascular disorders and developmental and acquired conditions. Outside of work, I enjoy sports and spending time with my family.

Duke Spine Center - Clinic 1B/1C
Throughout my medical career, I have remained dedicated to improving my patients' quality of life. As a specialist in adult cervical and spinal deformity surgery, I understand the significant impact our interventions have on individuals suffering from debilitating pain and physical and mental health challenges. Spinal deformity surgery merges the complexities of spinal biomechanics with the needs of an aging population. My research focuses on spinal alignment, biomechanics, innovative surgical techniques, and health economics to ensure value-based care that enhances patient outcomes. Duke Ambulatory Surgery Center Arringdon
I grew up in Durham and I am extremely proud to work here at Duke. All of my family members still call the Bull City home. Most of my education was completed in Durham, except for four years I spent down the road in Chapel Hill. I played football there and developed an interest in orthopaedic surgery that led me home. I specialize in hip and knee replacement and am very fortunate to do so. We have the ability to help so many people with these operations. It is extremely rewarding to help someone get back to doing the things they want to do with their life. Duke is the kind of place where you are challenged by the most difficult cases weekly and I appreciate that fact. We have great doctors in every field and we work as a team on every aspect of a patient's care once they enter the hospital. Dr. Bolognesi is highly rated in 7 conditions, according to our data. His top areas of expertise are Osteoarthritis, Acute Pain, Arthritis, Knee Replacement, and Hip Replacement.
Duke Ambulatory Surgery Center Arringdon
I am an adult reconstruction surgeon here at Duke. I completed graduate school and residency training at Wake Forest University, followed by a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Duke. My choice to pursue a career in adult reconstruction was based on my passion for patient outcomes. I was truly inspired by patients’ satisfaction and the drastic improvement on their quality of life after total joint replacement. I enjoy the systematic approach to problem solving and the complexity of cases in adult reconstruction, especially in the setting of revision arthroplasty. My clinical and research interests are centered around periprosthetic joint infections, a disastrous complication which continues to pose a challenge to the orthopaedic community. Despite the progress made, our goal to prevent infection following arthroplasty surgery remains unaccomplished. It is not an exaggeration to claim that fear of infection lives in the heart of every arthroplasty surgeon who steps into the operating room. My mission is to provide a personalized assessment and treat each patient individually, based upon their condition and needs. Dr. Seyler is highly rated in 7 conditions, according to our data. His top areas of expertise are Infectious Arthritis, Septic Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Knee Replacement, and Hip Replacement.
