Dr. Mark Thel graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia and cum laude from Georgetown University School of Medicine. At Georgetown, he was president of the Honor Medical Society Alpha Omega Alpha. He served his internship, internal medicine residency, cardiology fellowship, and interventional training at Duke where he was also the Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine. He received the Duke Medical School Davison Society teaching award in 1996.Dr. Thel has published more than 25 papers focusing on clinical trials in interventional cardiology.
