Dr. Cheriparambil K. Mani

Margit Nemeth, M.D., F.A.C.C., was born in Mendoza, Argentina, but grew up in Houston, Texas. Her undergraduate training at the University of Texas at Austin was in Mechanical Engineering, and she has a Master's degree in Cancer Biology from the UT Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Houston. She then attained her medical school degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, followed by an internal medicine residency training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She returned to Houston to obtain cardiology fellowship training at the Texas Heart Institute ' St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, where she was honored as 'CCU Fellow of the Year' in 2003. Dr. Nemeth has additional training in all aspects of cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac MRI, and cardiac CT. She has done extensive research in medicine with many peer-reviewed publications on topics as varied as cancer biology, cytogenetics, cardiac MRI, and general disease states as they apply to the heart, as well as optimization of function of biventricular pacemakers. He believes strongly in educating his patients about their condition and having the patient play a role in determining the best treatment option. Dr. LaVergne also feels that it is extremely important to individualize each patient's care.
