
Overview
I specialize in diagnosing and treating heritable arrhythmia syndromes that affect children and young adults such as long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia syndrome, and short QT syndrome. I specialize in identifying the cause of patients who have experienced a sudden cardiac arrest. I am a physician-scientist and cross-trained in pediatric cardiology, electrophysiology, human genetics, and molecular physiology. I lead an active research program that brings together clinical medicine, functional genomics, precision medicine, and molecular and cellular biology.

Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Center
I am a pediatric cardiologist who cares for children with congenital or acquired heart disease and adults with congenital heart disease. I am also a specialist in fetal cardiology, and I provide prenatal diagnosis and counseling to expecting families. My primary area of clinical interest is non-invasive cardiac imaging across the spectrum of congenital heart disease, from the fetus to adult. I am the director of the Duke Pediatric/Congenital Cardiac MRI Program and a member of the Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center.
