
Overview
Dr. Daniel G. Eichberg is an assistant professor of neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at Northwell Health. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University, where he developed his interest in oncology and neuroscience. He completed his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he graduated magna cum laude, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. Dr. Eichberg was awarded the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology investigating therapies for brain tumors.
Dr. Eichberg completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Miami, where he was selected for the National Institutes of Health T32 grant and the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation Research Fellowship Grant for glioblastoma research. Before he completed his training, he served as Chief Resident for the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Eichberg also completed a Neurosurgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Miami, focused on minimally invasive brain tumor surgery techniques.
Dr. Eichberg has published over 130 peer-reviewed publications focused on the clinical, translational, and basic science of brain tumor biology and surgical treatment.
To me, the most gratifying part of my profession is the meaningful connections I make with my patients, and to see them healthy and feeling better after surgery, he says. It is truly a gift to get to know these brave and resilient individuals on their path to recovery.
Dr. Eichberg currently works in the Northwell Health Department of Neurosurgery at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he focuses on the treatment of patients with brain tumors using minimally invasive surgical techniques. He is currently involved in multiple clinical trials for brain tumors, and is accepting new patients.
