Overview
Kent Nilsson, MD earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2002 . He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2005. He completed both his Cardiology (2007) and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowships (2009) at Duke University Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. Prior to joining Piedmont Heart Institute, Dr. Nilsson was in practice at Athens Regional Medical Center and at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Nilsson is board certified in both Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is a Fellow in both the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Georgia/Augusta University Medical Partnership in Athens, where he teaches and conducts research. In his spare time, Dr. Nilsson enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys gardening, hunting and fishing. The family is active in their church. Dr. Nilsson welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.

Raul Blanco, M.D. FACC, received his Bachelors of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry and a Bachelors of Arts in economics with a minor in mathematics from the University of Miami in Miami, FL. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Miami School Of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Emory University. Prior to joining Piedmont Heart, Dr. Blanco completed fellowships in cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging at Emory University. Dr. Blanco is board certified in Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiovascular CT and Cardiac MRI. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Heart Association.Dr. Blanco enjoys traveling and has visited over 26 countries and most of the United States. He recently he has been exploring the Georgia mountains and the many parks and trails in the Atlanta area with his wife and two daughters.Dr. Blanco welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), and Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging.Dr. Dinsfriend treats adult patients with cardiovascular disease and specializes in advanced cardiovascular imaging.
