Dr. Elizabeth Martin

Dr. Roberts is a board certified family practice physician who earned his bachelors degree from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, and his medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He completed his residency at East Mississippi Rural Family Medicine Residency in Meridian, Mississippi. Before medical school he served as a deck officer on cargo ships, sailing the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, and the Mediterranean Sea, and as a towboat pilot on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers.Dr. Roberts grew up in Fayette County, attended public schools, and graduated from McIntosh High School. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians at White Oak he was with First Georgia Physicians Group in Fayetteville.Dr. Roberts has a love of the outdoors and wildlife, and is a member of several conservation groups. His wife and he are active in shelter dog rescue and foster programs, and have fostered many dogs over the last several years. Two of his three dogs are rescues as well. He also enjoys cooking, collecting antique rifles, adding to his record collection, and reading poetry and history books. What he most enjoys, though, is spending time with his family - either traveling the U.S., to Europe, or just playing outside in the evening with his three children.Dr. Roberts likes engaging with patients of all age groups, and has a particular focus on chronic diseases, evidence based preventative screenings, mens' health, children and adolescents, and even enjoys doing minor office surgeries.
