Dr. David G. Kirsch

I am a radiation oncologist with a particular focus on the management of women's health malignancies. I specifically work with breast and gynecologic cancer patients. I believe a critical part of patient care is appreciating where patients are during this difficult time, and providing them with the tools and understanding they need to both feel comfortable and make informed decisions. My job provides me with the opportunity to really get to know my patient’s on a personal level. It’s one of the parts I enjoy most about my job: understanding and appreciating who the patient is beyond their diagnosis, and working towards what matters most to them. Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with family and helping my young children discover the world around them. I’m a radiation oncologist who primarily treat patients with gastrointestinal cancers and breast cancer. I also do clinical research trials. I’m specifically researching how exercise impacts a patient’s cancer growth and side effects of cancer. I’ve always liked helping people and in college I volunteered in the oncology ward and knew then I had found my passion. Interacting with patients is my favorite part of my job. I like to explain to them how radiation works and how it can benefit them. My hope is to provide my patients with an explanation that gives them less anxiety and less fear about the treatment.
