Overview
A native Washingtonian, Dr. Wolfe graduated Cum Laude from Amherst College, Amherst, MA where he received his BA in 1990 with a major in Religion. While there, he played varsity football and completed a senior thesis on Navajo Religious Medicine. In 1995 he received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, DC. In 1999 he completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Tufts University’s Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. While at Baystate, he was honored with the House Staff/Fellow Citation for Excellence in Teaching Award, given by the Tufts University School of Medicine, Class of 1998.
From 1999 – 2002, Dr. Wolfe was employed by the Chinle Hospital of the Navajo Area Indian Health Service. During that time, he served as a staff physician, Medical Director of the Outpatient Department, and as Project Manager for an Outpatient Redesign and Expansion project. In 2002, he received the Superior Administrative Service Award.
In 2004, just prior to joining Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, P.C., Dr. Wolfe completed a Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA.
From 2006-2023 Dr. Wolfe served as a volunteer rheumatologist at Mobile Med, Inc., a non-profit organization providing healthcare to the uninsured in Montgomery County, MD. In addition, he has volunteered as a rheumatologist on the Navajo Nation.

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center
Dr. Philip Seo is an Associate Professor in the Division of Rheumatology. A graduate of Harvard College and the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, Dr. Seo completed his Internal Medicine training as a member of the Osler Medical Service at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Since then, he has worked at Johns Hopkins in several capacities, including as a hospitalist at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and as an Assistant Chief of Service of the Department of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, before joining the Division of Rheumatology. Dr. Seo is the Director of the Johns Hopkins Vasculitis Center and Director of the Johns Hopkins Rheumatology Fellowship Program. His clinical interests lie in the assessment and treatment of patients with systemic vasculitis, in particular, the ANCA-associated vasculitides, which include granulomatosis with polyangiitis, microscopic polyangiitis, and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis.
