In Dr. Telhan’s own words, “I became a physician because I love people and I am blessed to be able to live a life of service where I can heal and care for my patients. I cherish my patients and nothing gives me greater joy than taking away the suffering of another and bringing a smile to their face. I believe as Mother Teresa said that we can do not great things, we can only do small things with great love. I am thankful to be able to live a life of learning. Medicine is not a profession for me, it is a calling.” Dr. Telhan received an Excellence in Patient Care award and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association and Medical Society of Virginia.
