Dr. H S. Dinneen
Overview
Scott Dinneen, MD, is dual-board- certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Dinneen is part of Atlantic Digestive Health Institute at Morristown. He believes in shared decision-making - spending time with patients to develop diagnostic and treatment plans based on clinical evidence that appropriately balances risks with expected outcomes and aligns with his patients’ preferences and values. Dr. Dinneen treats a wide breadth of digestive disorders including acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, celiac disease, C. difficile, colitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatitis, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease and colon polyps. Dr. Dinneen completed his fellowship at a liver transplant center, and has experience treating early and advanced liver disease including fatty liver disease (NASH), hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and cirrhosis. He has a particular interest in esophageal disorders including acidic and non-acidic reflux, eosinophilic esophagitis, peptic stricture, hiatal hernia, Barrett’s esophagus, achalasia, esophageal spasm and jackhammer esophagus. Dr. Dinneen treats his patients as he would treat his own family members – with knowledge, thoroughness, compassion and individualized care. After receiving his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME, Dr. Dinneen returned to his native state of New Jersey to pursue his internship and residency in internal medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He served as chief resident for one year before moving on to his fellowship in gastroenterology. While pursuing his education at Rutgers, Dr. Dinneen authored multiple publications and research initiatives on identifying risk factors, improving outcomes and assessing quality measures in the areas of gastroenterology and hepatology.Dr. Dinneen is part of the Atlantic Medical group and a member of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
