Overview
Dr. Joshua Moss is a cardiologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating complex heart rhythm disturbances, or arrhythmias. He has expertise in treating ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular arrhythmias, and atrial fibrillation using catheter ablation, in which the heart is accessed by passing a thin, flexible tube (catheter) through a blood vessel, and small areas causing the problem are cauterized. He is also skilled in surgically implanting pacemakers and defibrillators. Moss is involved in multiple studies of existing and evolving techniques for treating patients with arrhythmias who have a left ventricular assist device (LVAD), a mechanism implanted in the chest to help the heart pump blood to the body. Drawing on his training as an engineer before medical school, he takes an active interest in designing and testing novel devices for managing heart rhythm disorders. Moss has a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After earning his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, he completed a residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. He then undertook advanced fellowship training in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, Moss enjoys spending time with his children, especially taking them to visit state and national parks. A licensed pilot, he also enjoys exploring California from the air.
Dr. Moss is highly rated in 17 conditions, according to our data. His clinical expertise encompasses Arrhythmias, Ventricular Tachycardia, Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia (AVNRT), Cardiac Ablation, and Pacemaker Implantation.
Dr. Moss is board certified in American Board Of Internal Medicine, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and American Board Of Internal Med/Cardiovascular Dis, Cardiovascular Disease. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 70 peer reviewed articles and participating in 1 clinical trial. Dr. Moss is currently accepting new patients.

Dr. Henry H. Hsia is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist in the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Service. He performs catheter ablation to treat complex arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats, particularly ventricular tachycardia. In his research, Hsia explores new mapping techniques for identifying unstable, life-threatening heart rhythms. Hsia earned a medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Michigan Medicine, the medical system of the University of Michigan, followed by a cardiology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed training in cardiac electrophysiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining UCSF, Hsia worked at the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Stanford University. Hsia is an avid scuba diver and a certified diving medical officer. Dr. Hsia is highly rated in 17 conditions, according to our data. His clinical expertise encompasses Arrhythmias, Ventricular Tachycardia, Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia (PSVT), Cardiac Ablation, and Pacemaker Implantation. Dr. Hsia is board certified in American Board Of Internal Medicine, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and American Board Of Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine.
