Dr. Olumide O. Ajayeoba

Dr. Ajayeoba earned his medical degree in 2007 from the University of Lagos in Nigeria and a physician-executive Master of Business Administration degree in 2016 from the University of Tennessee. He completed an internal medicine residency in 2014 and a gastroenterology fellowship in 2019, both with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons at Harlem Hospital in New York. He went on to complete an advanced endoscopy fellowship with Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania. Dr. Ajayeoba is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in gastroenterology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Gastroenterological Association. A gastroenterologist who prioritizes clinical excellence, Dr. Ajayeoba diagnoses and manages conditions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, gastroesophageal reflux disease, colon polyps, bile duct disorders, Barrett’s esophagus and chronic pancreatitis. He is skilled in basic and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. Using an evidence-based, patient-centered approach in the development of care plans, Dr. Ajayeoba believes in advocating for his patients and ensuring that they are comfortable with the care they receive. He is an active listener, committed to treating his patients with compassion and support. Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Ajayeoba was attracted to Hampton Roads by its family-oriented recreational activities, diverse population, Southern hospitality and cool coastal vibe with nice beaches and good seafood. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, in addition to cooking, listening to music, practicing self-reflection exercises, traveling and participating in charity efforts.

His clinical expertise encompasses Bile Duct Obstruction, Cholangitis, Sclerosing Cholangitis, Gallstones, and Endoscopy.
