Dr. Peter Nakaji

Dr. Peter Nakaji, MD is an internationally recognized neurosurgeon in Scottsdale, AZ, specializing in the minimally invasive treatment of complex brain disorders. As the founder of Scottsdale Neurosurgery Specialists, Dr. Nakaji’s mission is to solve brain surgery problems through highly refined, often proprietary techniques, one patient at a time.

Dr. Nakaji completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of California, San Diego. He then pursued fellowship training in endoscopic neurosurgery at the Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery in Sydney, Australia, followed by subspecialty training in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.

He is a professor of medicine at Arizona State University’s School of Medicine and Medical Engineering (ASU SOMME) and a professor of neurosurgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine—Phoenix. He also serves as Neurosurgery Residency Program Director at Banner University Medical Center, Phoenix.
