Overview
After earning her medical degree from the University of Virginia, Dr. Lofgren completed a general surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She received fellowship training in surgical critical care at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Lofgren is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. Pleased to be part of the Riverside community, Dr. Lofgren rises to the challenge of caring for critically ill patients and applies her specialized expertise to the specific nuances of surgical patients. She approaches her practice with an appreciation for the lessons each patient teaches her, whether related to medicine or not. Dr. Lofgren has particular interests in critical care nutrition, wound healing and trauma prevention. She anticipates that minimally invasive techniques will soon be applied within the trauma population. Originally from the Atlantic City area of New Jersey, Dr. Lofgren loves living near the water and being just a short distance from cities and mountains. Two energetic daughters keep Dr. Lofgren on her toes, and she enjoys spending free time running, camping, hiking or at the beach.
