Duke Raleigh Hospital
I grew up in Durham and I am extremely proud to work here at Duke. All of my family members still call the Bull City home. Most of my education was completed in Durham, except for four years I spent down the road in Chapel Hill. I played football there and developed an interest in orthopaedic surgery that led me home. I specialize in hip and knee replacement and am very fortunate to do so. We have the ability to help so many people with these operations. It is extremely rewarding to help someone get back to doing the things they want to do with their life. Duke is the kind of place where you are challenged by the most difficult cases weekly and I appreciate that fact. We have great doctors in every field and we work as a team on every aspect of a patient's care once they enter the hospital. Dr. Bolognesi is highly rated in 8 conditions, according to our data. His top areas of expertise are Osteoarthritis, Acute Pain, Arthritis, Knee Replacement, and Hip Replacement.
Duke Ambulatory Surgery Center Arringdon
I am an adult reconstruction surgeon here at Duke. I completed graduate school and residency training at Wake Forest University, followed by a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Duke. My choice to pursue a career in adult reconstruction was based on my passion for patient outcomes. I was truly inspired by patients’ satisfaction and the drastic improvement on their quality of life after total joint replacement. I enjoy the systematic approach to problem solving and the complexity of cases in adult reconstruction, especially in the setting of revision arthroplasty. My clinical and research interests are centered around periprosthetic joint infections, a disastrous complication which continues to pose a challenge to the orthopaedic community. Despite the progress made, our goal to prevent infection following arthroplasty surgery remains unaccomplished. It is not an exaggeration to claim that fear of infection lives in the heart of every arthroplasty surgeon who steps into the operating room. My mission is to provide a personalized assessment and treat each patient individually, based upon their condition and needs. Dr. Seyler is highly rated in 8 conditions, according to our data. His top areas of expertise are Septic Arthritis, Infectious Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Knee Replacement, and Hip Replacement.
Private Diagnostic Clinic PLLC
A significant portion of my practice involves advanced minimally invasive techniques in thoracic surgery to treat diseases such as lung or esophageal cancer. Another part of my clinical practice is spent taking care of patients with severe lung disease, especially those needing lung transplantation. Patients from all over the world come to Duke for lung transplantation. Research demonstrates that experience is very important in taking care of complex medical problems, both on the surgical side and on the medical side. We have one of the largest transplant centers in the world with excellent survival statistics, as well as the shortest wait list time. Instead of the national average which may be four to six months, our patients wait an average of about two weeks. One of the best aspects of being a patient or working at Duke is the people who work here. No matter how challenging the medical problems may be or what problems may arise, I know there’s a world’s expert a phone call away who can help intervene and I know that my patients will be cared for by committed Duke staff from across the hospital. Dr. Hartwig is highly rated in 15 conditions, according to our data. His top areas of expertise are Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Hiatal Hernia, Esophageal Cancer, Lung Transplant, and Endoscopy.
