In addition, he completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in Thoracic and Foregut Surgery at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He is member of American College of Surgeons (ACS), Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and many other surgical societies. In addition to his clinical practice, he is the director of clinical research at Esophageal Institute. His research is focused on the understanding of the physiology and pathophysiology of diseases of the esophagus and their surgical correction. His studies have resulted in more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and more than 90 presentations in the national and international surgical meetings.
