Dr. Shweta N. Joshi

Gastroenterology Dr. Joshi is a board-certified and fellowship-trained gastroenterologist who has been in practice for more than 10 years. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she completed her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed both her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she had the distinction of serving as Co-Chief Fellow. Having earned many academic honors and contributed to several research publications, Dr. Joshi enjoys the intellectual challenge of helping patients navigate gastrointestinal problems. She believes in a collaborative treatment approach that involves active listening and creating an environment where patients feel comfortable to discuss any and all issues. She chose to pursue gastroenterology because it provides her the unique opportunity to make a difference in patients’ lives in a variety of ways, including cancer prevention and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. With a particular interest in women’s health, Dr. Joshi is skilled at diagnosing and treating many esophageal, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small intestine and colon conditions. She also performs gastrointestinal procedures, including endoscopies and colonoscopies. Dr. Joshi is married with two young children. She enjoys traveling and participating in adventurous activities such as white water rafting, hang gliding and skydiving. She is fluent in Kannada and can also communicate in Hindi.

Her clinical expertise encompasses Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Painful Swallowing, Swallowing Difficulty, Colonoscopy, and Gastrectomy.

Dr. Joshi is board certified in American Board Of Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 33 peer reviewed articles.
