
Overview
Dr. James Choi has been caring for Texas hearts since 2004. He is fellowship-trained in interventional cardiology. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr. Choi’s areas of clinical interest and focus include cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients; highly complex cardiology interventions: left main coronary artery and chronic total occlusions; valvular heart interventions; structural heart interventions: ASD/PFO/Left atrial appendage closure; and peripheral vascular disease. He has published numerous articles and conducted clinical research on coronary stent implantation and chronic total occlusions as well as novel renal artery denervation treatment for resistant hypertension.Dr. Choi earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology. He is the current medical director of Coronary, Renal and Structural Heart Technologies for the Baylor Research Institute in Dallas. He previously served as an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in College Station and as the director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.Dr. Choi is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions. He currently chairs the DFW AngioClub and is a member of the American Heart Association, Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Association. Dr. Choi has sat on numerous advisory boards, completed clinical research into various devices and cardiovascular procedures, and is active in the Korean-American medical community.

Connected Cardiovascular Care Associates (C3) is an innovative cardiovascular care practice in Dallas and Rockwall, TX, led by nationally recognized cardiology specialist Dr. Tony S. Das. A Vascular Surgeon and General and Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Das is the first cardiologist in Dallas to obtain board certification for Peripheral Vascular Procedures by completing the Society of Vascular Medicine and Biology Endovascular Interventional Boards. Dr. Gurpreet (Gary) Baweja has been caring for patients’ hearts as a board-certified interventional cardiologist since 1998 and has been a trusted resource in the Fort Worth community since 2007. Dr. Baweja received advanced cardiac imaging training, including Level III certification in echocardiography (essential training required to be a clinical lab director) and cardiac CT. He is also board-eligible in vascular medicine to perform endovascular procedures.Dr. Baweja currently holds several leadership positions within Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, including chairman of Cardiovascular Services, director of Invasive Cardiology and the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and cardiology sub-specialty director for the hospital’s Internal Medicine Residency Program. He is an active participant and lead investigator in trials involving cardiovascular disease, medications, and devices. His clinical expertise includes cardiac catheterization, complex percutaneous coronary and peripheral endovascular interventions, carotid stenting, left atrial closures using the Watchman procedure, and PFO/ASD closures. Dr. Baweja earned his medical degree from King George’s Medical College in India. He completed his internal medicine residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, N.Y., and his fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology at the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center in Tucson. Dr. Baweja is a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography, American College of Cardiology, and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
