
Overview
Dr. Samuel Jones is a cardiologist specializing in cardiology and electrophysiology at The Chattanooga Heart Institute. Dr. Jones is board-certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and in Internal Medicine. He retired as a Colonel from the United States Air Force and came to Chattanooga from San Antonio Military Medical Center.Dr. Jones earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an undergraduate degree from the United State Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and a fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston while earning a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Jones had a distinguished military career having served as a Cardiology Consultant and Chief Consultant of Internal Medicine Services to the Air Force Surgeon General. He served as a flight surgeon while based at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida and in Saudi Arabia.|Fascinated by science and fueled by a desire to help relieve suffering, Dr.Jones found cardiology and electrophysiology to be the most intriguing subjects. Cardiology will continue to have incredible technological advances. When working with patients, Dr. Jones stresses each encounter needs to be ethical in terms of acting in the best interest of the patient, treating all patients fairly, and respecting their own right to make their decisions.Outside of work, Dr. Jones enjoys playing golf with his sons, or doing anything with his family.

Dr. Brian Mitchell is board certified in cardiovascular medicine, internal medicine and nuclear cardiology. He has been with Chattanooga Heart since 2004 and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors.Dr. Mitchell completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at the University of Arizona, Tucson. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee with bachelor degrees in both biology and anthropology.Dr. Mitchell is board certified in Cardiology, Internal Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Stephen Monroe earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine at Tampa and completed his internship, internal medicine residency, and cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. He held the position of assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine.Dr. Monroe was one of the first cardiologists in this area to perform radial catheterizations. Currently, Dr. Monroe is involved in a number of cardiology research studies either as principal investigator, co-investigator or sub-investigator, or protocol co-author. The studies range from establishing condition-specific treatment guidelines to examining the safety and efficacy of pharmacological treatments. He is also currently participating in ongoing clinical trials.Dr. Monroe has been published in the American Heart Association’s journal, Circulation, as well as in Progress in Cardiovascular Diseases, The Journal of the American College of Cardiology, The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, and The American Heart Journal.|He has co-authored chapters in the books Cardiology and Cardiovascular Therapeutics, A Companion to Braunwald’s Heart 2nd Edition and has presented before the members of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Monroe is board certified in cardiology and is a member of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society.Dr. Monroe is an avid hiker. He and his family enjoy many outdoor activities. He currently serves as managing partner of The Chattanooga Heart Institute, where he collaborates with over 30 colleagues. He previously chaired the CHI Memorial Board of Directors.Dr. Warren possesses a broad range of clinical interests and expertise. His dedication to patient care stems from a deep love of science combined with a genuine ability to connect with patients on a personal level. The complexity and diverse treatment options within cardiovascular care drew him to this field, allowing him to help critically ill patients recover and thrive. He was the recipient of CHI Memorial’s inaugural St. Luke’s Healer’s Heart award which recognizes physicians and providers for demonstrating compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration.Dr. Warren's commitment extends beyond clinical practice.
