Dr. Charles Thompson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. After working 15 years in the medical field as a paramedic in south Louisiana, he completed his medical education at the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans.He began his postgraduate medical training in internal medicine at Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He then completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, where he was also invited to serve for an additional year as chief cardiovascular fellow/interventional fellow.Dr. Thompson is board certified in cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular computed tomography.
