Dr. Saleem Mallick

Ahmad Zankar, M.D., FACC, is fellowship-trained in general cardiology and interventional cardiology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and board-certified in general cardiology, echocardiography, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. He brings nearly a decade of clinical, research and training experience to Presbyterian Heart & Vascular Group. Zankar's areas of specialization include minimally invasive, non-surgical therapy for heart and peripheral vascular disease; heart stent procedures; and complex peripheral vascular disease treatments, including laser, atherectomy and totally occluded artery techniques.Zankar attended medical school in Lebanon before coming to the United States for his residency training at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology. His previous work includes serving as an assistant professor in the Cardiology Division at UT Southwestern Medical School and as acting director for the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic and Transplantation Services at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, both in Dallas. Dr. Geetha Ramaswamy was always inspired by her uncle, who practiced family medicine for more than 40 years. When she decided to attend medical school, she knew early on that she wanted to focus on cardiology because of the ever-evolving nature of the field. Dr. Ramaswamy is an interventional cardiologist with subspecialty board certification in adult echocardiology and nuclear cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has been serving the heart and vascular needs of patients since 2006. After serving North Texas communities for several years, Dr. Ramaswamy spent more than a decade in Northern Arkansas as a trailblazer in the fields of radial interventional cardiology, women’s heart care and heart valve treatments. She returned to the DFW area in 2021 to continue her work in interventional/structural cardiology.Dr. Ramaswamy earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Chennai Medical College in India. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Ramaswamy completed her clinical cardiology fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital-Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.She is also fellowship trained in advanced nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology through Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn.Dr. Ramaswamy is fluent in the Tamil and Hindi languages. When not with her patients, she enjoys meditating and the practice of yoga to strengthen not only her physical being but also for the mental strength and emotional balance they provide. To say Dr. M. Hassan Pervaiz is a board-certified interventional cardiologist is to only capture a small fraction of his career in medicine. His years of training and experience encompass research, teaching, and clinical and national committee involvement in vascular and endovascular medicine, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, vascular interpretation, cardiac CT, structural and valvular heart disease interventions, and cardiovascular angiography and interventions. In all, Dr. Pervaiz holds eight board certifications. He is also certified as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation. Dr. Pervaiz is an elected Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and Society for Vascular Medicine. His areas of special interest and focus include the treatment of adult coronary artery disease and heart failure; minimally invasive structural heart disease interventions, including TAVR, MitraClip, the Watchman procedure, and transcatheter closure of adult congenital heart defects like PFO, ASD and VSD; multimodality cardiovascular imaging, including 3D transesophageal echocardiography; nuclear stress testing; vascular ultrasound and peripheral vascular interventions. Dr. Pervaiz earned his medical degree at King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. He came to the United States in 2003 and served for a year as a research associate for Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Ill. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing in 2010. Dr. Pervaiz also completed advanced fellowship training in interventional cardiology and endovascular interventions at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass. and a structural heart disease interventions fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich. Dr. Pervaiz comes to Texas Health Heart and Vascular Specialists from Melbourne, Fla., where he served as Medical Director of the Structural Heart Disease Program at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Dr. Pervaiz also served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and received a Clinical Faculty of The Year Award in 2016. He currently serves on numerous regional and national committees through his involvement in many membership organizations.
