Overview

Mark W. El-Deiry MD, earned his medical degree from Rush College of Medicine and completed his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. El-Deiry received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Emory University and is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. El-Deiry has been practicing medicine for over 20 years and is one of the most experienced head and neck cancer surgeons in the country. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. El-Deiry was the Program Lead for the Head and Neck Tumor Program at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University where he developed a unique multidisciplinary model of care for head and neck cancer, including the design of the new cancer tower in Midtown, as well as helping that program achieve national prominence.

Dr. El-Deiry specializes in treating both benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck His special interests include microvascular reconstruction of complex head and neck defects, post radiation complications in the head and neck as well as treating rare tumors of the head and neck including salivary tumors and vascular tumors.

In his spare time, Dr. El-Deiry enjoys running and being outside.

Mark E. McClinton, M.D., earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah while competing for the university's alpine ski team. He then went on to receive his medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He returned to his native state of Washington to complete a surgical internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, after which he entered the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine.
