Dr. Evan Weitman, M.D., FACS, is a Surgical Oncologist at Piedmont Healthcare. Dr. Weitman earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and completed his residency in General Surgery at New York University. During his residency he also completed a 2-year research fellowship to study lymphedema at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He finalized his formal training with an additional 2-year fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.Dr. Weitman is board-certified in General Surgery and board-certified in Complex General Surgical Oncology by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Weitman's clinical focus is in surgical oncology; including the management of skin cancers such as melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma and merkel cell carcinoma. His special interests include the surgical management of locally advanced melanoma with a multimodality approach using oncolytic viral therapy (TVEC). He also has expertise in the surgical management of soft tissue tumors, gastrointestinal tumors including gastric and pancreatic cancer, and neuroendocrine tumors.
