Overview
Dr. Brit Adler is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins University. She is building a career as a translational physician-scientist with a focus on Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and infection-associated chronic illnesses. Her interest in this area emerged from her work in general rheumatology, where she frequently encountered patients with POTS, an often-overlooked and understudied condition. She is particularly interested in investigating the immune dysregulation underlying POTS, Long COVID, and Chronic Lyme Disease. By leveraging her prior experience in autoantibody discovery in rheumatic diseases, Dr. Adler aims to deepen our understanding of these conditions. In addition to her work in general rheumatology, Dr. Adler leads a dedicated POTS clinic and evaluates patients in the Hopkins Autonomic Lab, furthering her commitment to improving care for patients with autonomic disorders. She earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Following this, she pursued a clinical and research fellowship in Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins. This provider is registered with the Florida Department of Health to perform telehealth services for patients in Florida.
