Dr. Jawwad Yusuf
Overview
Dr. Jawwad Yusuf is a fellowship-trained interventional and advanced heart failure cardiologist. Dr. Yusuf’s areas of clinical interest and focus include complex CAD, peripheral vascular disease, chronic total occlusions, advance heart failure, mechanical circulatory support including extracorporeal circulation (ECMO). He also has a special interest in diastolic dysfunction and pulmonary hypertension. Since 2015, Dr. Yusuf has served as a clinician, researcher and educator with a focus on advancing the field of cardiology. He has been involved in countless clinical investigations in the areas of heart failure therapies and treatments. Dr. Yusuf earned his medical degree in Pakistan before setting down roots in the United States. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He completed additional fellowship training at the University of Chicago (advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology) and Michigan State University for his interventional cardiology. Dr. Yusuf also holds a physician executive MBA from the University of Tennessee-Haslam College of Business in Knoxville. He most recently served as a cardiologist for Methodist LeBonheur Health Care in Memphis.Dr. Yusuf is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow of the American College of Physicians and Fellow American society of cardiac angiography and interventions. He is also a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Away from the office, Dr. Yusuf enjoys traveling and skiing with his family.

Dr. Alpesh Amin is a fellowship-trained cardiologist and heart failure physician. He is also board-certified in cardiology and heart failure. Dr. Amin has served as a clinical educator since 2001 and has been involved with the heart valve and MitraClip™ program at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas since 2019. Earlier in his career, he began serving as the medical director of the Heart Failure Clinic at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He also has served as associate medical director of Mechanical Circulatory Support at UT Southwestern since 2018.Dr. Amin’s areas of clinical interest and focus include advanced heart failure disorders and heart attack, heart valve procedures, and extracorporeal circulation (ECMO) and other mechanical circulatory support. He earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine before completing an internal medicine residency at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, Minn. Dr, Amin completed his cardiology and heart failure/transplant fellowships at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, Mo. During his final year in cardiology training, he served as chief fellow.Dr. Amin is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He serves as a regional reviewer for the Heart Transplant Committee of the United Network of Organ Sharing. When not with his patients, Dr. Amin enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his children in soccer. He also is active on other committees and groups in cardiology, quality improvement and public health. Parin Parikh, M.D., FACC, is a native Texan, having grown up in Plano and attended Plano Senior High School. He graduated from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., with honors and obtained his medical degree at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. He stayed in New York to complete his general and interventional cardiology fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center, where he served as chief fellow in interventional cardiology.Parikh is one of the only cardiologists in North Texas to obtain six board certifications: interventional cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and registered physician in vascular interpretation. He also has advanced training in complex coronary and peripheral stenting and interventions. Parikh has special training in performing cardiac catheterization procedures from the wrist (radial artery catheterization), which can be safer and more comfortable for patients than the traditional femoral (groin) approach. Currently, less than five percent of the procedures in the United States are being performed using this new, innovative approach.Parikh also has specialty training in non-invasive cardiac and vascular imaging, including echocardiography, stress tests, nuclear medicine and peripheral vascular ultrasound studies. His areas of clinical expertise include coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease (including diabetic ulcers), critical limb ischemia, valvular heart disease, venous disease, cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Parikh is also conversant in Spanish.Parikh and his wife live in Dallas, and feel blessed to be close to over 40 extended family members in the DFW Metroplex.
